Wednesday, Bar Harbor, ME

Up early this morning....by 7 ish.. We were pulling into the harbor of Bar Harbor.  As we had seen
cruise ships in the harbor last year when we were here, we pretty much knew where we were.  Looked out the balcony and say the NCL Ship already anchored, lots of local boats and lots and lots of lobster traps being tended to. ...pulling in the lobstahs...

Town Square, Bar Harbor, ME--color from the top down
After breakfast, we began the long tedious effort to get on a tender into town.  Take a ticket, sit and wait (forgot my passenger key--had to go back to room), came back and our group had already left, had to get another ticket.  Ohhhh...finally got on a tender and headed into town.  We'd seen it all.  Great shopping, but our bags are at the 50 lb limit...no buying.
The Harbor from the park

People watched for a bit on the town park.  It's really a lovely little town.  But with two cruise ships
in, there were so many people.

Bar Harbor
After an hour or so, we decided to head back to ship...with everybody in Bar Harbor, there'd be

Looking for food--in the park
nobody on the ship....lol!

Beautiful Acada Nat'l Park----CLOSED
It's such a shame that Acadia is closed.  So many people may never get a chance to see it.  We were so lucky to have had the experience last year of riding our bikes thru it via the carriage trails.  No cars.  It was wonderful.

Looked cold to me
Back on the ship, there was really nobody onboard....so quiet.  It began to rain and it was a dark, dreary, rainy day in the mid 50's.  Lots of people did their thing anyway.  And we did ours....read and looked out at the view from the balcony window.

Tomorrow is Boston and we hear there may be a deal struck on reopening the government---topic of dinner conversation around here--so maybe we'll get to visit Faneuil Hall, Freedom Trail, etc.
